Q: What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are weightless enhancements in the shape of an eyelash that when applied can give the illusion of a darker lash line. They can range in a variety of styles, lengths, and curls. At WINK, after a consultation we custom each extension style that’s safe and best suited to enhance your natural lashes.
Unlike false lashes, it is not applied in one whole piece but rather is an intricate process of adhering lash extensions to a single, natural lash. Our gentle process ensures that your natural lashes are not heavy or damaged and able to grow without pain, itchiness, or irritation.
Q: Will they damage my lashes?
Eyelash extensions will generally not damage your natural eyelashes. The process that we use to recommend extension styles and the careful method in which we apply those extensions will be based on what is best suited for each guest. Your lash health is our main priority and ensure that nothing is ill-fitted, heavy, or damaging.
Q: How long do they last?
Each eyelash extension lasts around 4 weeks. In order to maintain a fuller lash line, it is recommended to schedule a lash retention touch-up appointment every 2 weeks as our natural lashes grow and tend to fall out during that time.

Q: How are eyelash extensions applied?
Eyelash extensions are an extremely detailed service for your artist! It requires the hands of a surgeon and the patience of a saint. Each individual natural lash is carefully isolated so that a single extension (or single volume fan) is applied without touching any other hairs. Our extensions come in a variety of lengths, curls, and diameters. Each set is then customized to based on what your natural lashes can safely handle. We use the tiniest dot of adhesive to ensure your lashes adhere properly yet are comfortable to wear.
Q: How long does an eyelash extension appointment take?
Eyelash extensions are applied meticulously by hand and applied to a single natural lash. Application can take some time as the average person has about 150-200 natural lashes per eye. Full sets can average about 2 hours, but that is typically a one-time initial appointment. You’ll come in for eyelash maintenance appointments every 2-4 weeks following the full eyelash set application.
Q: Can I get my lashes wet?
YES! You absolutely can be your very own little mermaid and get your lash extensions wet. We recommend waiting a full 24 hours before getting in water. The adhesive that we use is water resistant within a few minutes after application and waterproof within a few hours of application. So wether you’re heading to the beach for a weekend or getting ready to ugly cry at an upcoming wedding, your lashes will hold up to whatever water you’ve got coming!
Q: Can I sleep on my lashes?
In order to help minimize lashes twisting and to reduce any uneven loss of extensions, we recommend that you fall asleep on your back or at the edge of the pillow.
Q: Do you cut my natural lashes?
Absolutely not! Your natural lash is a top priority for us, and we would never want to compromise your natural lash health by cutting it. Our lash artists can ensure that the application style is safe and up to industry standards.
